Priscilla Murphy

Soprano Vocalist and Pianist

Priscilla Murphy is a versatile musician, gifted as a singer, pianist, and composer.  She began studying piano with her mother at age 5, and her love of music inspired her to study music in college.  She double majored in piano and voice performance during her undergraduate studies and went on to earn masters degrees in both voice and piano performance from Bob Jones University and Southern Methodist University respectively. She graduated with honors with all of her degrees.  During her graduate studies she studied in the vocal studios of Jean Greer, Robert Barefield, and Joan Heller, and in the piano studios of Daniel Steenson, and Carol Leone.

Following graduation, Priscilla taught private piano and voice lessons for 7 years, and was also privileged to attend OperaWorks with Ann Baltz in Northridge, CA, an experience which revolutionized the way she approaches both performing and teaching.  Priscilla is currently the staff pianist at Stonebriar Community Church where she not only accompanies weekly rehearsals and services, but is often a featured vocal soloist for services and special concerts. She also arranges music for various instrumental groups and has had her compositions and performances featured on the internationally broadcasted radio program, Insight for Living.
